Our Story

TunUp Squad began its journey in 2009, rooted in the vibrant dancehall scene of the DMV area. What started as a passion for throwing unforgettable dancehall parties quickly grew into a movement that shaped the local nightlife. One of our most iconic events, TunUp Thursday, became widely known as one of the longest-running Thursday night dancehall events in the DMV, holding its legacy for an impressive 11 years.

As our influence expanded, we transitioned into DJing and sound system rentals, providing top-tier entertainment and high-energy performances. However, the pandemic marked a turning point for TunUp Squad. Adapting to the evolving landscape of music and entertainment, we transformed into a full-fledged music production and brand marketing company, focused on elevating artists and curating cultural impact.

TunUp Squad, founded by Hensley “Gizzy” Campbell, thrives on his passion for music and branding. Committed to innovation in dancehall, reggae, hip-hop, and afrobeat, we push boundaries worldwide.

Patrick “Yoredman” Britton crafts our signature rhythms, while Ruel “PotARice” Ashburn brings depth with his seasoned musicianship. Rising co-producer Damarley “Bentii” Bent is making waves with his unique and dynamic style.

We also collaborate with a range of talented producers and industry professionals to bring fresh energy and creative perspective to every project.
